DP World sponsors 25 students at Rashid Summer Camp

DP World, UAE Region will extend financial support to sponsor 25 students to participate in the annual Rashid Summer Camp being organised by the Hobbies Club.  

The 40-day-long camp, which has become highly popular among school students, runs from June 20 to July 31 at the Hobbies Club’s facilities in Al Awir.  

DP World, UAE Region, which has supported the camp in the past as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme, said the students under its sponsorship would be chosen from the children of its employees and that the Hobbies Club would nominate external candidates if the number fell short.  

The children selected for the camp are aged between five and 12 years and some 500 students are expected to participate in it.    

Mohammed Al Muallem, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DP World, UAE Region, said: “We believe the Rashid Summer Camp is playing a crucial role in imparting all-round development and building leadership skills in our children at a young age so that they can grow into responsible citizens of tomorrow. DP World, UAE Region is proud to be associated with the promotion of this laudable cause and wish both the Hobbies Club and the young participants an enjoyable time ahead.”  

The Rashid Summer Camp offers a range of extra-curricular activities to the participants and is designed to help them spend part of their summer vacation in a productive, stimulating environment.  

The camp’s physical activities include sports like football, volleyball, horse riding, swimming and shooting, and its intellectual development programme covers Quran recitation, field trips and workshops to advance skills.
